Andromeda Spreads Her Trillion Galactic Sparkles for Great New Photo Shoot! PHAT!
The Andromeda Galaxy is the only thing in the sky that you can see with the naked eye that is outside our own galaxy. It's a huge beautiful spiral galaxy with an estimated 1 trillion stars (in case you're a dumbass, that's a fuck ton)! If you haven't looked at this image yet you're a total loser, because it's ammaaaaazzee balls! It's a massively high resolution image that is soooo PHAT. And by PHAT I mean the Panchromatic Hubble Andromeda Treasury program that NASA used to create a composite image in near-ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared wavelengths. The composite image is 1.5 billion pixels, or as a friend of mine put it "Holy shit, that's really fuckin big!". As huge as that is, it's still only one pixel for every 6.66 (hail satan, long may he reign!) stars. So as awesome as this image is, it still only scratches the surface of the majestic bullshit that is the Andromeda Galaxy. So dig it, dumbasses, science!
